Smith & Wesson Large Capacity Firearm Seized on Traffic Stop in Dedham

DedhamMassachusetts State Police Release – 05142018 – Two Arrested in Dedham for Illegal Possession of Large Capacity Firearm

Early Saturday morning, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Trooper Michael Murphy, of the State Police Framingham Barracks was on patrol of Route 95 southbound in the town of Dedham, when he stopped a Toyota Corolla for motor vehicle violations. Trooper Murphy stopped the vehicle as it was exiting Route 95 onto Route 1 southbound.

As the result of an investigation, with the assistance of Trooper Kyle Falvey, the driver, identified as JOHNNY L. MOLINA, 29, of Boston, and a passenger, identified as DIANA PIERRE, 28, of Stoneham, were found to be in illegal possession of a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun, with a large-capacity magazine. Neither MOLINA or PIERRE are licensed to carry firearms.

Both were placed under arrest and transported to the State Police Barracks in Milton for booking.

MOLINA was charged with the following:
1.            Possession of a firearm without FID card
2.            Carrying loaded firearm
3.            Possession of ammunition without FID card
4.            Possession of a large capacity weapon or feeding device
5.            Improper storage of a firearm
6.            Marked lanes violation

PIERRE was charged with the following:
1.            Possession of a firearm without FID card
2.            Carrying loaded firearm
3.            Possession of ammunition without FID card
4.            Possession of a large capacity weapon or feeding device
5.            Improper storage of a firearm
6.            Fail to wear seat belt

Both were released on bail, pending arraignment today in Dedham District Court.
