Norovirus (“stomach bug” or “stomach flu”) is the leading cause of vomiting and diarrhea in the United States.
Norovirus is a very contagious virus that can cause illness at any time but is more common between November and April.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) works with local health departments to investigate outbreaks of norovirus. DPH epidemiologists analyze reported cases of disease to look for trends and outbreaks.
