The Board of Registration in Medicine established an Emergency Temporary License Application for out-of-state physicians to assist in meeting the increased demand for physician services in Massachusetts.

Graduates who have satisfactorily completed 2 years of postgraduate training approved by ACGME, AOA or an accredited Canadian program are eligible for licensure.

The policy allows holders of a limited license to engage in "internal moonlighting" provided that certain conditions are met.

Physicians whose licenses are due for renewal between January 1, 2022 and February 28, 2022 and who have not completed all CME required for such renewal may renew their licenses but shall complete any such outstanding CME requirements by March 1, 2022.
