The Board of Registration of Real Estate Appraisers licenses qualified professional appraisers in compliance with the mandates of Title XI, the Federal Financial Institution Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act (FIRREA) of 1989. Real Estate Appraisers, through their contracts with clients, provide land, commercial, and residential property appraisal services. The Board ensures the integrity of its licensees through fair and consistent enforcement of the statutes and regulations.
Notice: On December 8, 2023, the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Real Estate Appraisers issued regulations for licensing of appraisal management companies, 264 Code Mass Regs. 13.00, and fees for AMC licensing and the National AMC Registry, 801 Code Mass. Regs. 4.02(264). All new applications, amendments and renewals must now be completed online through the ePlace portal. The list of Appraisal Management Companies can be found there as well.
