Who we serve

The Environmental Toxicology Program provides evaluations of the human health risk of exposure to contaminants in food, environmental media (e.g. air, water, soil), and consumer products. We provide technical assistance to the general public, state and federal agencies, as well as DPH staff in regulatory programs involved with medical marijuana, community sanitation, childhood lead poisoning, food protection, recreational water quality, and radiation protection.

Staff also provides interpretation of analytical laboratory data related to the health impacts of exposure to environmental chemicals, radionuclides, pathogenic organisms, and toxins.
