Protecting the health and safety of the Commonwealth from the harmful effects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.

Radioactive materials can pose a range of issues. The Radiation Control Program staff works to address these. This includes the regulation of specific radioactive sources, x-ray technology, nuclear medicine, mammography, professional training and licensure for radiologic technologists, laser registration, and more.
