Trial Court Office of Language Access (OLA)

About the Office of Language Access

The Office of Language Access (OLA) is responsible for coordinating and allocating interpreters to requesting courts in an effort to provide equitable access to justice across the entire Massachusetts court system.

Interpreter services are available to all court users in all court departments (Boston Municipal, District, Housing, Juvenile, Land, Probate and Family, and Superior Courts). Interpreters are requested for more than 90,000 interpreter events in 113+ languages, two-thirds of which are for Spanish events.

The top language requests are for Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian, Cape Verdean, Vietnamese, Arabic, Mandarin, American Sign Language, Russian, Cantonese, and Khmer.
