Peter Brigham

Deputy Commissioner of Planning

Peter Brigham joined the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) as the Deputy Commissioner of Planning in 2024. Mr. Brigham has more than three decades of planning experience as both a public official in Massachusetts and a consultant.  Trained as an architect, he is familiar with all aspects of capital project development and execution but also draws on significant expertise in master planning and modeling, planning technology, space planning, accessibility planning, landscape planning, community engagement, and transportation planning.  

From 2012 to 2024, Peter worked at UMass Lowell in the Planning, Design, and Construction group, where he led the Planning and Facilities Information Systems group. His duties at UMass Lowell included instructional space analysis and planning, building renovation roadmaps, capital program management, and data visualization for facilities projects, deferred maintenance, and research space planning. Prior to joining UMass Lowell, Peter was a Senior Associate at Sasaki Associates, from 2001 to 2012. At Sasaki, he managed campus master plans and urban revitalization work across the United States for over 20 institutions. Peter started his career 1987, serving as an urban designer on the Big Dig for Wallace Floyd Associates.
