Salem – Bridge/culvert replacement, North Street over North River

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is replacing an existing culvert that carries the North River under Green Trail, North Street, and a pedestrian path in Salem, MA with three separate bridges.

This project is replacing an existing culvert that currently carries Green Trail, North Street (Route 114), and a pedestrian path over the North River in Salem. The culvert will be replaced with three separate bridges. The project will improve the structural integrity and hydraulic capacity of the culvert while maintaining the multimodal connections and improving connections to recreational and transit facilities located near the project.
