The Black Powder Education course is one of several advanced courses offered by the Hunter Education Program and was developed by the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. This course is not required for hunting with a muzzleloader in Massachusetts and a Black Powder Education certificate does not qualify you to purchase a Massachusetts Hunting or Sporting license.
This course is designed for both experienced and novice hunters who want to improve their skills. Topics include the selection of hunting equipment, state laws, the safe handling of muzzleloaders and powder storage. This course is conducted free of charge.
Students under the age of 18 must have completed a Basic Hunter Education course and any unaccompanied minor students must bring a signed permission form to class in order to participate.
There are no current course offerings. Please check back in 2018.
