Massachusetts Hunter Education Program

Offers hunting-related courses in Massachusetts including the state-mandated Basic Hunter Education course.

If you want to learn to be a safe and ethical hunter or find out how to qualify for your first-ever hunting license, you're in the right place. The MassWildlife Hunter Education Program offers six different types of courses including Basic Hunter Education which is required if you are an adult and want to purchase a hunting license for the first time.

You can find course listings, request to be notified about courses, apply to be a volunteer instructor, and request a copy of your certificate using the resources on this page.

All classes are free of charge and open to the public.
