CANS Training and Certification

MassHealth Children's Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI), Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS)

CANS training is for clinicians in certain levels of care who will be providing behavioral health assessments to MassHealth children and youth under the age of 21. These clinicians are required to complete this training and certification in order to provide behavioral health assessments to MassHealth children and youth under the age of 21 if they are enrolled as a MassHealth provider or as network providers in one of MassHealth’s contracted managed care entities.
