Fruits and Vegetables Inspection

Division Inspectors are licensed by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) to provide inspection and certification of apples and cranberries for export.

Provisions in the U.S. Export Apple & Pear Act require that apples be certified to U.S. grades prior to leaving the country.

Fruit/Vegetables Inspection Fees

Weekly Fruit & Vegetable Inspections
Location Stationed at one location
Full Week $400.00-40 hour week
Partial Week Hourly Rate $15.00 per hour

The hourly rate will also be applied on all normal inspections consuming more than 4 hours actuarial inspection or writing time per customary car lot plus the commodity inspection fee.

The following applies only to overtime fees.

Charges for inspections started or completed from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 A.M., Monday through Friday; also inspections made on Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays will be assessed on the following basis:

Regular inspection fee, plus $10.00 per hour.
