In response to the demands put upon the parkways, the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Office of Cultural Resources has published the Historic Parkways Treatment Guidelines - a comprehensive design and management publication tailored to parkway management in the Commonwealth. But the care and improvement of the parkways only begins here. We must use this document to protect the historic features of the parkways and to make all them as useful and enjoyable as possible for people visiting our parks or traveling by foot, bicycle or car.
