Comprehensive Medical Exam Policies

The Comprehensive Medical Exam requirements.

The Municipal Police Training Committee’s policies require the student officer's comprehensive medical exam to have been completed within nine-months of the start of the police academy but they must still be valid (unexpired) on the start date of an academy.

Human Resource Division's Policy

The Human Resource Division requires the candidate’s comprehensive medical exam:

  • Is conducted by either a police department's physician or any occupational healthcare provider
  • Medical provider cannot be the candidate's primary care physician or a physician they know
  • A military doctor does not qualify as an occupational healthcare provider
  • The Comprehensive Medical completed prior to scheduling the Physical Ability Test (PAT)
