Per Chapter 120 of the Acts of 2020 (“An Act to Mitigate Arbovirus in the Commonwealth”), the Mosquito Control for the Twenty-First Century Task Force (“MCTF”) is required to commission a study by an independent research or academic organization to complete a comprehensive evaluation of the Commonwealth’s mosquito control process. After a public bidding process, the MCTF selected Eastern Research Group (“ERG”) to conduct the study.
At the MCTF meeting on June 2, 2021, ERG presented its required mid-study progress report. The slide deck can be found at the following link: MCTF Study – Progress Report Presentation
ERG completed the report in mid-August 2021, which can be found at the following link: Report for the Mosquito Control for the Twenty-First Century Task Force – August 2021. Public comments on the report were accepted through September 17.
The public can continue to submit comments pertaining to the MCTF via the comment portal and is encouraged to attend public meetings of the task force and its subcommittees.
