UMass Lowell - Pulichino Tong Business Center

This new building houses the Manning School of Business.

The four story school building will be attached to Lydon Library on the North Campus.  The building will house five business school departments, the Dean’s suite, a specialty trading room, and five large classrooms.

Project Features

  • The UMass Lowell North Campus is undergoing a sweeping transformation with the recent opening of the new Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center (ETIC) and the planning for the new Pulichino Tong Business Building (PTB)
  • The new facility is developed to bring teaching and research together and foster cross discipline linkages in the North Campus Innovation District.
  • Renovation to existing Lydon Library first floor and entrance to new plaza
  • The building will feature a state of the Trading Room, providing a lab environment for teaching and club activities
  • Smart instructional spaces will be provided for class sizes ranging from 19 to 49 students.
  • Academic departments will be co-located sharing support space and allowing for cross departmental collaboration
  • A two story connector between the PTB and adjacent Lydon Library allows for sharing of information and entrepreneurial work and technology exhibits
  • The atrium promotes a visual connection and interdisciplinary communication
  • Sustainable features include optimizing the building envelope, chilled beams, occupancy sensors and daylight harvesting, a solar wall to preheat the intake air, enthalpy wheels, economizers, and point of use hot water
  • LEED Gold Certified
