A Rewarding Career in Juvenile Justice Starts Here

Impacting Youth

What we do is important—our mission makes Massachusetts communities safer by helping DYS youth change the trajectory of their lives.

DYS supports young people in creating and sustaining productive lives. We do this through providing counseling, education, career training, and services to youth detained by or committed to DYS by the courts.

DYS operates various youth residential and community programs across Massachusetts. These include:

  • DYS Residential Treatment Facilities
    24-hour monitored residential units
    • hardware-secure
      (locked facilities)
    • staff-secure
      (community facilities)
  • DYS Community-Based Offices
Services are provided to youth living in the community.
