Advisory  DCR Recreational Advisory: Salisbury Beach State Reservation and Sandy Point State Reservation

What: Until further notice the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) has closed Salisbury Beach State Reservation in the Town of Salisbury and Sandy Point State Reservation in the Town of Ipswich out of an abundance of caution due to a sewer issue affecting the Merrimack River. Swimming is not advised due to the potential exposure to bacteria associated with the accidental wastewater release. DCR will continue water quality testing on the regular schedule and will post the results to the DCR park alerts webpage as well as share with the Department of Public Health.  

Where: Salisbury Beach State Reservation in the Town of Salisbury and Sandy Point State Reservation in the Town of Ipswich
