The Board of Building Regulations and Standards’ (BBRS) Building Official Certification Committee oversees all matters relating to qualifications and certification of all building code enforcement officials engaged in the administration and enforcement of the Massachusetts State Building code, 780 CMR.

The Bureau of Pipefitters, Refrigeration Technicians, and Sprinkler Fitters licenses qualified professionals in these trades. It also investigates incidents or accidents involving related equipment and enforces laws and regulations.

The Bureau of the State House works with the Executive Office, the Massachusetts Legislature, state agencies, and the Massachusetts Historical Commission in preserving, maintaining and restoring the Massachusetts state capitol. The Civil Service Commission is an independent, neutral appellate tribunal and investigative entity.
