Overview   of Community Policing and Behavioral Health Advisory Council (CPBHAC) Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Community Policing and Behavioral Health Advisory Council (CPBHC) on December 16, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m at 1 Ashburton Place, Boston, MA 02108 on the 10th Floor, Charles River Conference Room.

Agenda

  1. Welcome
  2. Introductions  of CPBHAC Members
  3. Use of MPTC portal and data base - Acadis - to track behavioral health classes approved/sponsored by DMH and taken by officers - Robert Ferullo and Shelia Gallagher
    1. Discussions between MPTC and DMH during past few month
    2. Ability to have new behavioral health classes approved/sponsored by DMH scheduled via the Acadis portal on a go forward basis
    3. Ability to have the rosters of participants in behavioral health classes approved/sponsored by DMH and delivered during the past 2 to 3 years entered into Acadis
    4. System would provide means of determining extent of training received by officer, by department
    5. System would serve as means of assessing required training among officers and departments
    6. Input from Advisory Council Members on this proposal
  4. MPTC Curriculum:  DMH and DPH to review and provide comments regarding behavioral health topics: Matt Broderick, Diana Chidsey, Robert Ferullo and Shelia Gallagher
    1. DMH and MPTC staff meetings/discussions/collaboration during the past two months
    2. Review of New Recruit Curriculum
      1. Reviews by DMH and DPH Subject Matter Experts (SME)
      2. MPTC considerations:
        1. Amount of time allocated to various elements of New Recruit training, including BH topics
        2. MPTC board input
      3. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Input from Advisory Council: utility of developing and implementing annual review process of all behavioral health training content delivered by MPTC, DMH and other sources
  5. Other initiatives and advisory councils impacting the work of the CPBHAC
    1. Middlesex County Restoration Center Commission – Scott Taberner
