Overview

Fees: Free

Meet at Wachusett Reservoir Gate 8, Intersection of Cross Street and Route 70, Boylston. About 3 miles round trip.

Hike will be along forest roads and footpaths with some inclines to the narrowest part of the Wachusett Reservoir, the water supply that provides clean drinking water to 2.7 million people. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water.

Dogs are not allowed on water supply protection lands.

Hike will be a slow pace and last about two hours. In the case of inclement weather, hike may be cancelled or modified. To check on hike status please call 617-352-4044 or email Kathryn.Parent@mass.gov.
