Public Hearing Notice

Public Hearing Notice  IIRG Revised Interconnection Tariff Proposal: Public Hearing DPU 25-48

Tuesday, June 17, 2025
2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Overview

The Department is conducting a virtual public hearing to receive comments on the Interconnection Implementation Review Group’s (IIRG) proposed revisions to the Model Standards for Interconnection of Distributed Generation Tariff (DG Interconnection Tariff). Included in the IIRG’s proposal are revisions to two of the processes (Simplified and Expedited) to connect distributed energy resource (DER) facilities (e.g. solar/photovoltaic and energy storage/batteries) to an electric company’s power system in addition to revisions to the provisions governing the interconnection process for energy storage systems (i.e. batteries) and revisions to the Group Study provisions that would allow for exemptions for certain facilities that fall within the Expedited Process. The IIRG expresses that the revisions are intended to increase the number of projects that qualify for the Simplified and Expedited interconnection processes, meet the needs of energy storage systems, increase predictability, and understand and explore ways to address system modification costs.

The public hearing will take place on Thursday, June 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. For audio-only access to the hearings, attendees can dial-in at 646-558-8656 (not toll free) and then enter the Meeting ID# 813 2746 2826.
