Public Meeting Notice Magazine Beach Improvements Phase 2.2 Grassy Beach Construction Update Meeting 6/29/2026
Overview
The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is presenting construction updates for the Magazine Beach Improvements Phase 2.2 – Grassy Beach Project. This phase will enhance public access to the Charles River within Magazine Beach Park by installing a permanent observation deck and dock, restoring the shoreline with native plantings, and creating new lawn and landscaped areas.
The project will also improve accessibility and connectivity throughout the park through the construction of pathways linking the parking area to waterfront amenities and the broader park network. Additional improvements include the installation of picnic tables, benches, and other site furnishings to support recreation, gathering, and enjoyment of the riverfront. Together, these enhancements will create a more accessible, connected, and welcoming park experience while improving the ecological health of the shoreline.
The public will be invited to provide comments during the meeting, after the presentation, by unmuting their microphones, or the chat functionality that will be available through the virtual participation platform. After the meeting, the presentation will be available for viewing on DCR’s Past events for DCR Public Meetings Information web page.
