National Health Care Facility Surveyors Week 2026
Overview
Governor Maura T. Healey has proclaimed August 9-15, 2026, National Health Care Facility Surveyors Week in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, recognizing the health care facility surveyors who protect the health, safety, and well-being of patients and residents across the Commonwealth.
A Proclamation
Whereas, Health care facility surveyors play a vital role in protecting the health, safety, and well-being of patients and residents of Massachusetts by ensuring compliance with federal and state standards of care; and
Whereas, Health care facility surveyors serve as dedicated public servants who evaluate health care facilities, including hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and other licensed health care facilities, to promote quality care, patient safety, and continuous improvement; and
Whereas, Through their expertise, professionalism, and commitment to public service, surveyors help ensure that health care facilities maintain the highest standards of care and accountability for the individuals they serve; and
Whereas, Health care facility surveyors work collaboratively with health care providers to identify opportunities for improvement, strengthen systems of care, and foster environments that support positive health outcomes; and
Whereas, National Health Care Facility Surveyors Week provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of health care surveyors whose efforts help safeguard the health and well-being of the Commonwealth's residents;
Now, Therefore, I, Maura T. Healey, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, do hereby proclaim August 9th through 15th, 2026, to be
NATIONAL HEALTH CARE FACILITY SURVEYORS WEEK
And urge all the residents of the Commonwealth to take cognizance of this event and participate fittingly in its observance.
