Summery Sensory Outing 7/24/2026

Meet at Mass Central Rail Trail - Sterling Spur, 25 Gates Road, Sterling. 

Sensory Trail Event Programs are designed to be intentionally inclusive and accessible for a safe interaction with the outdoors. Programs are free and open to all ages and abilities. 

Enjoy this guided sensory walk to celebrate summer. Pause for interactive sensory stations, natural touch-and-smell experiences. Benches are placed along the way for resting areas. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome.  An ADA portable toilet is placed at the start of the trail. Parking area is located across the trailhead and a painted crosswalk is on Gates Road.

Dogs are not allowed on water supply protection lands, however service and medical support animals, when acting within their service capacity, are welcome. 

Hike will be a slow pace and last about one hour. In the case of inclement weather, hike may be cancelled or modified. To check on hike status or for any questions, please call 617-352-4044 or email Kathryn.Parent@mass.gov.
