This guide includes information about the Plan Review process, including information about fees, the types of Plan Review, and all forms that health care facilities must use to submit proposed projects to the Department of Public Health for review and approval.
Plan Review is the review of construction documents for new health care facilities and for additions and renovations to existing health care facilities prior to the start of the construction.
New construction, conversions, additions, and alterations for a proposed facility or in an existing licensed facility shall not take place until the plans for the proposed project have been reviewed and approved by the Department of Public Health (DPH).
For New Licenses (i.e., construction or renovations for the purpose of establishing a newly licensed facility), the fee is $8.25 per $1,000 of construction costs, with a minimum of $1,500 and a maximum of $45,000 per plan review project.
