SafetyWorks Training Grant application and instructions
The SafetyWorks Training Grant is offered on a scheduled basis, not on a rolling basis.
The grant year runs from July 1 to June 30. All grant-funded training must be completed by June 30, and invoices for reimbursement must be submitted by July 15 of the same fiscal year.

The Details
Before applying
Before you begin, gather the following information to make the process faster and easier:
- Legal name of your organization (as listed with the Secretary of the Commonwealth, include d/b/a if applicable)
- Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)
- Current number of Massachusetts employees (full- and part-time)
- Contact information for the individual(s) authorized to sign contracts
- Contact information for the grant administrator (may be different from above)
- Certificate of Good Standing from the Department of Revenue (DOR)
- Certificate of Unemployment Insurance Compliance from the Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA)
- A COMMBUYS ID Number.
Once you have everything ready, you can start your application online.
How to apply
Required Information & Documents
Incomplete applications cannot be submitted. Make sure all required fields (marked with a red ‘*’) are completed and all supporting documents are uploaded:
- Standard Contract Form (SCF)
- W-9
- Contractor Authorized Signatory (CASL)
- EFT Form
- Blank Letter or Voided Check
- DOR Certificate of Good Standing
- DUA Certificate of Compliance

- Plan your training and budget carefully, including invoices.
- Clear your browser cache before beginning the application.
Important Application Numbers
- Unique Organizational ID – Generated after completing and saving the first page of the application.
- GMS Grant Submission Number – Provided via email after successful submission.
Your submission confirmation email will also include:
- Instructions for completing the Workplace Safety Grant Portal registration
- Link to the Portal
- Instructions for creating a Portal password
Application Process & Requirements
- Applications may be saved and resumed at any point after the first page is completed.
- Only complete and responsive applications will be considered.
- DIA Office of Safety reserves the right to suspend or revoke funding at any time.
- Submit your training schedule before training begins. Non-compliance may result in forfeiture of grant funding.
- All training must be completed by June 30, and invoices must be submitted by July 15 of the same fiscal year.
