Program guidelines
The Home Care Program follows these guidelines:
- In-home cleaning services include: light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery shopping.
- General services do not include heavy chores, financial management, medication monitoring, childcare, or taking you to appointments (although a Home Care case manager can often assist you in finding such services).
- Service disputes between you and your provider can be resolved by a Home Care case manager.
- All services are subject to termination f
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible for the Home Care Program services if you:
- are between the age of 18 and 59,
- have a disability that keeps you from doing one or more homemaking tasks,
- need assistance with in-home tasks to keep you out of the hospital or out-of-home placement,
- meet MassAbility and Home Care financial guidelines,
- live alone, with children under 18, or with an adult who has a disability, and
- are not receiving other Home Care services
Note: If you are legally blind, you are not eligible for the Home Care Program, but can sign up for eligibility-based services for the visually impaired.
