The Details of Auctioneer Licensing

What you need for Auctioneer Licensing

Please note: Cash is no longer accepted as a form of payment.

To be licensed as a Massachusetts auctioneer, you will need the following:

  1. A completed Auctioneer Application

  2. A diploma or certificate from a certified auctioneer school

  3. A $10,000 surety bond on the form approved by the Director of the Division of Standards

  4. Two signed letters of recommendation from either a licensed auctioneer, an elected official, or a member of the Massachusetts bar. The two letters must be from different sources.

  5. A license fee of $100

PLEASE NOTE: ANY APPLICATION THAT IS NOT COMPLETED OR SIGNED WILL BE RETURNED TO THE APPLICANT.
