What you need

To check your vehicle's registration status, you will need your plate type and vehicle registration number.

You can obtain the following information:

  • Registration status
  • Registration expiration date
  • Vehicle information (year, make, model)
  • Last vehicle inspection date and result
  • Insurance information

Fees

There is no fee to check the status of your vehicle registration.

How to check

The easiest and quickest way to check your vehicle's registration status is online. You will need your plate type and registration number.

The following vehicle registration types are not available online:

  • Dealer/manufacturer
  • Repair
  • Farm
  • Owner contractor
  • Transport

For these plate types, contact the RMV's Section 5 Department at (857) 368-8030.

For apportioned plates, contact the RMV's International Registration Plan (IRP) Department at (857) 368-8120.

If you ordered a renewal or replacement of your vehicle registration and have not received it in the mail, call the RMV's Contact Center.
