The Details   of Enroll in MFA Career Recruit Firefighter Training Program

What you need   for Enroll in MFA Career Recruit Firefighter Training Program

  • All students must have successfully completed the Civil Service Commission's Physical Ability Test (PAT).
  • The head of the department must submit a completed application package to the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy (MFA) and the student must create/edit their personal profile in the DFS Learning Management System (LMS).
  • After verification of a completed application, the head of the department will be notified of the recruit class assignment.
  • The student will be emailed instructions to apply to a Recruit Fitness Orientation (RFO) class in the DFS LMS.  The student will receive an email confirmation of their enrollment.
  • After successful Completion of the RFO, the student will be provided instructions for applying to the waitlist for the Career Recruit Program.  The student and the department will receive notification when their class assignment has been confirmed.

  2. MEDICAL AND PHYSICAL FITNESS STANDARDS

    All students must successfully complete the Civil Service Commission's Physical Ability Test (PAT) before the fire chief can submit the application for the Career Recruit Firefighter Training Program.
