File an annual tow report
Tow companies that conduct police ordered or trespass tows are required to file an annual tow report with the DPU.
Reports that are not received by March 31, 2025, may be assessed a $25.00 per day late fee

What you need to do
- Review all tow invoices for the calendar year
- If no regulated tows were conducted, notify the Division by emailing the Division at dpu.transportation@mass.gov with your company name, address, certificate number, and receipt of filing fee of $10.
- If the company no longer conducts regulated tows (police ordered or trespass tows), you may no longer need a certificate from the Department. Write to the Department at dpu.transportation@mass.gov if you want to cancel the certificate or you are not sure if you need one.
