What you need   for Pay Transportation Oversight Division fees

The Transportation Oversight Division of the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) has contracted with nCourt to offer the option of paying for certain fees online.

Please note that nCourt is not a department, division, or agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the DPU.  nCourt is a secure third party vendor operating on behalf of the Transportation Oversight Division.  This service is safe, reliable, and in accordance with all state and government regulations.

You will be asked to select or enter:

  • The type of fee you're paying;
  • Your DPU certificate number;
    • If you're a new applicant and don't have a certificate, enter your name or company name;
  • Personal or company contact information; and
  • Your e-check or credit/debit card information.

In return, nCourt will:

  • Tell you the total of your payment including any convenience fees;
  • Obtain approval of the charge;
  • Issue an onscreen confirmation number and a printable digital receipt;
    • Please save this - we may request a copyand
  • Email confirmation to users who request it.
    • We strongly recommend requesting an email confirmation.

You can also still submit payments by check or money order payable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Please note that submitting payments by mail will delay processing of your materials.

nCourt is able to accept payments for the following types of Transportation Oversight Division fees:

  • Carrier Application – New ($100)
  • Carrier Application – Transfer ($100)
  • Bus Decal – New ($60 each)
  • Bus Decal – Renewal ($40 each)
  • Moving & Towing Truck Decal ($40 each)
  • Motor Bus Certificate ($40)
  • Motor Bus Certificate & Road Test – Age 70+ ($40)
  • Motor Bus Certificate – Age 70+ Renewal ($20)
  • Motor Bus Certificate & Road Test - 14 Passenger Restricted ($60)
  • Duplicate Motor Bus Certificate ($20)
  • Road Test Only ($20)
  • Tariff Filing – Movers Only ($100)
  • Annual Tow Report – Towers Only ($10)
  • Department Audit Fee ($100)

nCourt charges the following convenience fees for submitting payments online:

  • eCheck: $0.35 per transaction
  • Credit or debit card: 2.35% of each transaction

How to pay   Pay Transportation Oversight Division fees

The Division accepts online payments through nCourt.

The Division also accepts check or money order payments by mail.  Please make all checks payable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and mail to:
