Determine Your Eligibility
To be eligible under the Natural Disaster Recovery Program for Agriculture II (NDRII), applicants must meet be is a producer that suffered an Eligible Loss in Massachusetts as a direct result of a weather event in 2023 or 2024 as defined as eligible in this RFR and had an ownership share and a production risk in the crop, livestock, or timber (including timber rights). All losses must have directly impacted production or storage of an agricultural crop.
Eligible losses are the following types of losses caused by a Weather Event in 2023 or 2024 that resulted in necessary expenses related to the following:
- Crop Loss,
- Future Economic Loss,
- Timber Loss,
- Infrastructure Loss, and/or
- Bare-Ground Practices Necessary to Mitigate Land Loss.

Before submitting an application, read the Request for Response (RFR). The RFR provides a comprehensive summary of eligibility, program details and requirements, and necessary information for submitting an application.
Prepare for Applying
You will need to provide the following as part of your application:
- Documentation demonstrating eligibility based on criteria listed above and in the RFR.
- Proof of loss, such as photos, receipts, crop records, or other documentation.
- Values for lost crops, damaged or destroyed infrastructure, future economic losses, or other declared losses.

Submit Your Application
Submit your application through the online form with the necessary documentation.
MDAR Reviews Your Application
MDAR will evaluate all applications submitted and will determine funding amounts based on the information specified in the RFR.
Contract and Funding
If your application is selected to receive funding, MDAR will issue you an award letter and contract documents that specify the terms and conditions of funding. You will need to sign a Standard Contract Form with The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and provide additional documentation including a W-9 and an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Form in order to receive payment.
