What you need

Note: Only current certified officers that are within 6 months of their certification expiration dates are eligible to renew.

How to renew

To start, go to the Massachusetts State Police Breath Test Officer Certification Training Program to complete your exam. When completed, officers will be certified in the following programs:

  • Preparation for the Administration of a Breath Test
  • Administration of the Breath Test
  • Completing the Breath Test
  • Legal and Other Considerations

Successful completion of the exam and practical will result in the certification of the Breath Test Officer for an additional 3 years.
