The quickest and easiest way to order your replacement driver's license is online.
Please note: A name change cannot be done online. An in-person visit to a Service Center is required to capture your new signature. Schedule an in-person appointment.

How to replace
To replace your driver's license online, you will need to:
- Log in with a MyMassGov Personal account
- Pay any applicable fees

For people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing (in Massachusetts)
You will need your:
- First and last name
- Date of birth
- Driver's license, learner's permit, or Mass ID number
- Last 4 digits of your Social Security number
- Applicable fee
The RMV is not offering replacement licenses at RMV Service Centers at this time. However, if you are a AAA member, you can make a reservation to replace your driver’s license at a AAA location. Visit AAA to schedule your visit.

If your driver's license will expire in less than a year, you can renew your driver's license instead of replacing it.
You cannot cancel or return a duplicate license after ordering.
If you have not received your credential after 30 days, contact the RMV.
