The Details of Submit a Joint Venture Request
What you need for Submit a Joint Venture Request
All firms seeking to joint venture for a specific MassDOT or City/Town/Other Awarding Authority project must be prequalified. At least one of the prequalified horizontal construction firms must have the class of work for the project.
All joint venture partners must sign the Joint Venture Request, however, the completed and signed request is submitted by the lead partner.
If the request is approved, the lead partner will receive a request to submit a W-9 in the Joint Venture’s name via Docusign (for MassDOT projects only).

- The deadline for submitting a Joint Venture Request is 1:00 PM Fridays, 1:00 PM Thursdays if the Friday is a legal holiday to be included on the following Wednesday’s Prequalification Committee Meeting agenda.
- The joint venture is project-specific.
- If a joint venture partner is not currently a prequalified horizontal construction firm, go to Submit a Contractor Application for Prequalification.
- If none of the joint venture partners has the class of work for the project, at least one partner must request the class of work. Go to Submit a Request for Additional Class of Work to request an additional class of work.
