Housing Choice Designation

The Housing Choice Designation is designed to be simple, flexible, and achievable for municipalities. 77 communities are currently designated as Housing Choice Communities.

What is the Housing Choice Designation?

The Housing Choice Designation recognizes Cities and Towns that demonstrate certain levels of housing production and adoption of pro-housing best practices. Communities that earn this designation gain exclusive access to the Housing Choice Grant Program and receive priority consideration for various Housing Choice participating programs, including infrastructure and environmental grants. The designation lasts five years and is designed to be flexible and achievable for Cities and Towns producing new homes across the Commonwealth.
