Agricultural Grant Writing Assistance List

This page has information on individuals and organizations that may assist individuals, farms, farmers, or organizations that need assistance with grant writing, grant related research, and project management.

An Agricultural Grant Writing Assistance List was stated as a priority in the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources' (MDAR) Environmental Justice Strategy, to "explor[e] outside options to provide grant writing support to farmers, especially those in EJ communities and providing technical assistance training opportunities in a more general manner so that when applications are made available, EJ community applicants feel better prepared to respond".

This page contains a list of individuals or organizations capable of assisting potential grant applicants with grant writing, grant-related research, and project management if needed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The grant applicant will be responsible for contacting and screening any consultant they may hire and arranging their own agreements/contracts, including fee structures(if any). MDAR does not make any representations as to the quality or type of services received. MDAR emphasizes that successful grant applications require significant involvement from the applicant. Using a vendor from this list does not provide any MDAR applicant with an advantage during the evaluation process and in no way guarantees funding. Utilizing grant writing services is not required or expected for applicants of MDAR grants and will not be considered as part of the review of any application.

Assistance with grant writing support was a key need uncovered in listening sessions with partner farmers and organizations, and while MDAR cannot assist farmer with grant writing, our hope is that this directory will be a helpful resource to Massachusetts farmers. However, utilizing grant writing services is not required or expected for applicants of MDAR grants

How to Respond to be Listed on MDAR's Agricultural Grant Writing Assistance List

There are two ways that vendors who  are interested in being added to the Agricultural Grant Writing Assistance List can respond:

  1.  Through this online form, which asks information about the organization and services provided.
  2. Or through the Commbuys bid posting.

Please note, this is a request for information (RFI) only. No contracts or purchases will be made as a result of this RFI. Qualified vendors will be placed on a Master Vendor List for constituents to use as a resource in finding help with the grant process. Please refer to the "Questions" listing for the information needed to be entered in the COMMBUYS Required Questions Tab.

MDAR has developed Submission Instructions for responding to the Commbuys posting. The following Job Aids may help with the process as well:
