DDS Assistive Technology Services

How do I request to receive Assistive Technology services?

Services are provided through referrals in your region as follows:

  • Those living at a DDS Center or State-Operated Home are referred through their clinician.
  • If you are living in the community, at a vendor home, in shared living, or with family, please contact your Service Coordinator to be referred.
  • If involved with an AT evaluation you may be referred directly through your AT Provider.

What are the main components of AT services?

  • AT Evaluation: This involves evaluating the AT needs of an individual, including an assessment of technologies available to address the individual's needs and support the individual to achieve outcomes identified in their individual support plan.
  • AT Devices: This service covers the cost of purchasing AT equipment, consistent with an individual's AT assessment.
  • AT Training: This includes the set-up of AT equipment, education and support that aids an individual in the use of AT equipment and devices, and training for the individual's support network.
