Customer information list

Your electric company provides your electric usage as well as other customer data to competitive suppliers for marketing purposes. This webpage explains how to stop providing this information to competitive suppliers.

Overview

Your electric company provides a customer information list to competitive suppliers upon request.  D.T.E. 01-54-A at 24-26.  The customer information list allows competitive suppliers to market to customers in a more efficient manner.  The customer information lists contains the following information:

1. the name on the electric account
2. your mailing address (and service address, if different)
3. your monthly meter reading date
4. your rate class
5. your monthly kilowatt hour usage (and demand usage if applicable) over the last 12 months.

You may opt out of having your information included on the customer information list.  You will need your electric account number to opt out.  To opt out, contact your electric company in the following manner:

  • Log onto Eversource.com
  • Go to 'Account and Billing' and click or tap on 'Manage your Bill'
  • Click or tap on the tile 'Manage Your Online Account'
  • Click or tap the plus sign (+) next to 'Privacy/Supplier Settings' to expand the section 
  • Click or tap the checkbox that appears in the 'Privacy' section.
