Coming Soon: 2023 Tax Bills

Income tax bills on any outstanding balances on returns filed for tax year 2023 will be going in the mail in June. Taxpayers can log in to their MassTaxConnect account any time (or sign up if they don’t have one) to view their balance and make any payments.

Payment Agreement if You Can’t Pay in Full

Speaking of bills, if a taxpayer receives a bill (a Notice of Assessment) and is unable to pay, the taxpayer can request a payment agreement to assist them in paying their tax obligation in full. Taxpayers can set up a payment agreement after logging in to their MassTaxConnect account. We have a how-to tutorial that walks you through this process.

Your Feedback is Appreciated

We want to hear about your experience during this tax season. Let us know of any hiccups you may have experienced during the filing season or about things that worked well. We also want to hear feedback on tax forms, your experience communicating with DOR, and any ideas for simpler and more efficient ways to achieve tax compliance.

Your Summer To-Do List

With summer at hand, we want to remind qualifying taxpayers about a few seasonal tasks.

  • Boats – If you recently purchased a boat or other recreational vehicle, now is the time to file and pay your Sales and Use tax (Form ST-6) on MassTaxConnect. This QR code will take you directly to the forms. When complete, print a copy of your ST-6 certificate of payment to complete registration with the Massachusetts Environmental Police.
  • Short-Term Rentals - For taxpayers operating short-term rentals, a reminder that you must register with DOR and obtain a Certificate of Registration for each property you offer for rent. Visit the Room Occupancy Excise Tax page to learn more and watch our registration video.
