Massachusetts Substance Use Helpline

The Massachusetts Substance Use Helpline provides information about harm reduction, treatment, and recovery services for substance use disorder (including alcohol use disorder) available in Massachusetts. 

MA Substance Use Helpline

The Helpline can provide a warm hand off to programs and services, when needed. It’s free and available 24/7, 365 days a year.  

Peer Recovery Support Centers (PRSCs)

Massachusetts PRSCs are free, peer-run spaces where people in recovery and their families can connect, get support, and find community 

PRSCs offer things like peer support, self-help groups, and activities to help people stay on track in their recovery journey, build relationships, and improve their day-to-day lives  

BMC Addiction Warmline

The BMC Addiction Warmline provides rapid access to medications to treat opioid and alcohol use disorders. This includes buprenorphine (Suboxone), Sublocade, injectable naltrexone (Vivitrol), and other medications for alcohol use disorder.  

The Warmline also provides linkage to treatment on demand (including methadone) and referrals.

988 Lifeline

The 988 Lifeline offers mental health support. The services are free and available 24/7, 365 days a year. 988 lifeline specialists provide support to people who are experiencing emotional distress or suicidal thoughts — or are worried about a loved one who is. You do not need to be suicidal to contact 988.

Behavioral Health Helpline

The 24/7 Behavioral Health Help Line (BHHL) directly connects individuals and families to the full range of treatment services for mental health and substance use offered in Massachusetts. Anyone in Massachusetts can call, te

xt, or chat at any time to receive individualized support, clinical assessment, and personalized treatment referrals. 

Connect with qualified professionals for mental health assessments, crisis services, substance use treatment, referrals and more, with options in all communities. Help Line staff will remain on the line until callers are connected to their next step. 

Open 365 days a year, the call/text line and online chat service is completely free (no insurance needed) and is available in over 200 languages. 

North American Indian Center of Boston (NAICOB)

NAICOB provides services to empower and invest in the Nation American community. This includes care coordination for social services for Indigenous individuals.  

A community health worker and social worker are available by appointment to assist with issues relating to mental health, homelessness and housing, the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), K-12 education and homeschooling, substance use and recovery, domestic violence, medical advocacy, social services referrals, access to legal support, and other needs.

No tribal documentation is required to receive advocacy services.
