Program Update
Registration for the MA Repay: Human Service and Home Health Worker Student Loan Repayment Program is now closed. The Application Deadline was March 13, 2024.
The Executive Office of Health and Human Services has reopened registration with some key changes:
- Applicants are now eligible to apply regardless of income level
- Applicants who earn less than 50% of their AMI will receive a priority point.
- Applications will close at 11:59 PM EST on March 13, 2024, or once the award amounts requested by applicants reaches approximately twice the available award funding for this program, whichever comes first.
- Individuals who submitted their applications prior to February 14, 2024 will not need to resubmit their applications.
- CHCs, CMHCs, and SUDs treatment sites that are licensed by BSAS/BHCSQ were deemed ineligible based on the Board’s recommendations (all were eligible under the first program for behavioral health and primary care providers).
Overview
Educators may qualify for between $3,000-$30,000 in student loan debt repayment. This is through the Human Service and Home Health Workers Loan Repayment Program.

1. How do I know if I am eligible to apply?
Eligible workers* include direct care professionals and their supervisors, including, but not limited to, workers with the following titles employed in an eligible setting:
- Educators
- Educator Assistants
- Care Coordinators
- Case Management Roles
- Developmental Specialists
- Residential Program Direct Support Professionals
- Child Placement and Adoption Agency Direct Support Professionals
- Residential Counselors
- Resource Coordinators
- Outreach Workers
- Program Directors

Eligible settings include settings of programs that are operated by a home-based or community-based human service organization, located in Massachusetts, and funded or licensed by EEC to provide treatment, support, or services to clients or their families.

2. If I work in an Early Education and Care setting, am I eligible for this program?
Direct care staff and their supervisors at programs licensed by EEC are eligible for this loan repayment program. Staff who work in center-based child care, out-of-school time (OST), and family child care (FCC) programs can apply.
Early Childhood Educators will need to provide an employment verification form signed by their supervisor or an HR representative.
3. If I am a Family Child Care (FCC) Educator or Assistant, how do I verify my employment?
FCC Educators and Assistants are eligible for this loan repayment program. A self-employed FCC Provider can verify their employment with a self-attestation in the application, and they must upload their EEC license. FCC Assistants will need to provide an employment verification form signed by their supervisor.
4. If I work in a residential program, am I eligible for this program?
Direct care staff and their supervisors at programs licensed by EEC are eligible for this loan repayment program. Staff in residential programs will need to provide an employment verification form signed by their supervisor.
