Overview
You do not have to be registered to navigate and download applications from the COMMBUYS system. If you find a grant opportunity of interest that requires online submission, you may register as a COMMBUYS Vendor to create and submit a response.
Using Advanced Search
- Launch COMMBUYS
- Navigate to Advanced Search
- Choose Bid Solicitation from the Document Type dropdown
Searching for Grants
There are multiple ways to search for Grant Opportunities using search fields. Search fields may be used individually or in combination with each other. Select Clear between searches.

| Bid Number | Type the last five to six digits of the bid number to bring you to the grant opportunity |
| Bid Description | Type the word “grant” to search for bids that have used “grant” as part of their description. Use with another search criteria to narrow results. |
| Opening Date From and Opening Date To | Select the calendar to display grant opportunities by Bid Opening Date timeframe |
| Organization/Department | Choose an Organization or Department |
| NIGP Class | Choose the Grant Opportunity Code 00-00 from the ‘NIGP Class’ dropdown |
Viewing Results
- Select Search to view results
- Select the Bid# of the bid/grant opportunity you would like to view from the search results
Reviewing Header Information
- If an electronic response is indicated on the Header Information as “Yes,” you are required to create and submit a response through COMMBUYS
- A COMMBUYS Vendor account is required to create and submit your grant quote response
- If “No” is indicated, be sure to read the submission instructions included in the grant application attachment
Reviewing Item Information
- Review the grant posting in its entirety and follow the instructions. The Item Information may provide the grantee with special instructions, restrictions, or information related to the grant application process
Downloading Attachments
- Download the attachments needed for the quote response
