Marketing script closing language

At the end of a telemarketing call and door-to-door marketing sales interaction, competitive suppliers and their third-party marketing vendors must let residential consumers know that the consumer:

  • will be transferred or placed on a call to a third-party verification provider, and
  • will need to confirm the product information that has been discussed.

Referencing the electric or gas company

The DPU does not prohibit a marketing vendor from identifying the name of a consumer’s electric or gas company. However, the DPU emphasizes that such identification must be done to provide consumers with accurate and useful information. The marketing vendor or competitive supply company cannot suggest that they have a connection to the electric or gas company.
