This stakeholder group provides input to MassDEP on organics, composting and conversion regulations, policies and programs.

A working group of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee, the Organics Subcommittee meets on a periodic basis.

The next meeting of MassDEP's Organics Subcommittee will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

This meeting will focus on infrastructure and capacity for managing food materials, including anaerobic digestion, animal feed, composting, and associated supporting capacity including de-packaging and collection. The meeting will feature a panel discussion format with representatives from diverse portions of our food waste management system. There will be plenty of time for discussion and Q&A.
