The Board of Allied Health Professions includes the fields of occupational therapy, athletic training, and physical therapy. The board conducts background checks on individuals seeking licensure as occupational therapists and assistants, athletic trainers, and physical therapists and assistants. With a focus on security and integrity, their licensure process is fundamental to patient and public safety in Massachusetts. The board also regulates the practice of these professionals and initiates disciplinary action when necessary, according to state laws and the board’s rules and regulations.
