The Board of Registration in Nursing oversees the practice and licensure of nurses in Massachusetts. The board is responsible for nursing practice and educational regulations that include the approval and monitoring of nursing education programs, leading to initial licensure. The board also investigates and acts on any complaints concerning the performance and conduct of licensed nurses. The board’s mission is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the Commonwealth through the fair and consistent application of the statutes and regulations governing nursing education and practice.
